The Charlotte Independent Venue Alliance (CIVA) is an organization that empowers and preserves Charlotte’s live music community through supporting grassroots concert venues.  As small business owners, the CIVA community plays a crucial role in Charlotte’s music and culture economy.

These cultural hubs are centerpieces of our neighborhoods. As businesses they provide highly skilled jobs, contribute to the tax base and drive tourism dollars.

These Venues are vital economic multipliers for the city of Charlotte. They are revenue generators for surrounding businesses including restaurants, bars, hotels and other retail outlets. One impact report estimated that for every dollar spent on a concert ticket generated as much as twelve dollars of economic activity!
